Default Cheating the after cat o2?

Hey guys im new to this forum, I recently bought a down pipe for my 01 A4 1.8T. I've heard that you need to do something to cheat the after cat 02 into thinking that the cat is doing its job even though its deleted from the system completely. Help! Thanks

Did you buy a test pipe?
There is 2 ways around this not throwing codes.

1) if you are running a flash on the car (APR, Unitronic, etc) then you can add a testpipe file that will trick the computer into thinking the O2 sensor is fine.
2) You can buy a O2 Spacer
Which "BigDaddiesGarage" O2 spacer to get for '02 1.8T with test pipe?
Or you can make your own (read down the thread and you will see)

Good luck and what ever you do don't make it permanent as you will need to switch it back when you go for your emissions test
