Default B6 S4 exhaust

In doing some preliminary research I see there are 3 or 4 decent alternatives. I am looking to get more aggressive sound (maybe marginal performance) what do I buy? Neuspeed, Supersprint, Milltek ?? thank you

How aggressive are you after? IIRC Neuspeed is the loudest, then Miltek, then Supersprint, comparing the same type of exhaust, of course (i.e., between non-resonated, or between resonated). All the non resonated ones I've heard are quite mean.

Thx for the reply. Its hard to put in writting, but I definitely want the deep v8 sound and am not afraid of being aggressive, BUT I also don't want to look like a jacka. Neuspeed definitely struck me as the loudest on youtube...so maybe miltek..?

Are resonated and non-resonated 2 different worls apart?

thx

Non-resonated is significantly louder than resonated. In fact, I'd go as far as saying it's most likely a bad idea to put in a non-resonated exhaust on an Avant, for it'd be too loud inside the cabin.

In my experience with parts (suspension, wheels, exhaust) if you don't go big at the onset, you regret it later on. In other words, assuming I choose a resonated system, will I be bored/disappointed in a couple weeks, if not immediately?

thanks for your help

My Supersprint is resonated, and I've not been disappointed for a couple years now, so it really depends on your own preference.

I know of a person who went with a louder setup, only to replace it with a quieter set after a week... I think if you buy your exhaust from a reputable shop, they should be willing to accommodate you changing from resonated to non-resonated (or vice versa).

Great, good point.

Another thing, I have an opportunity to buy a set of 19 BBS CH for my 2005 S4 but I still don't know if they are 8.5 or 8.0. What's the diff and would both fit equally well?

thanks again

I believe 19" BBS CH's only come in 8.5 inch width but not 8.0 in our 5x112 bolt pattern. The 0.5" doesn't make a huge difference, and certainly not in terms of fitment unless your car is VERY low, in which case the wider wheel helps make the tire sidewall a bit more tapered and can usually help in avoiding rubbing. Another difference a wider wheel makes is, of course, that you can choose to put on a wider tire.

And you're very welcome
