2003 a4 1.8t cv boot
Hey guys
recently at service i was told my passenger side outter CV BOOT was cracked and needs to be replaced. I am currently going thru a tough financial period and was hoping if anyone can help out. I am willing to buy the part from dealership but the labor is costing too much to put it in. If anyone can help, it will be greatly apprecaited.
I will be getting the part before Wed Oct 21 2009
PS: Ill buy the drinks lol

cv boots are not too bad, dont go to dealer!!!!! Migus auto works, its around dundas and dixie. I got mine replaced for a bout 80 bucks on a 1998 audi, so b5, not b6. I dont think it would be much more then that for you. How much are the dealers asking?

hmmm, did you check a few more? because even for edmonton, i doubt that the price will increase literally 3.5 times, that is way too much. And you said that its the labour majorly, in ontario mechanics charge about 60$/h and i dount cv boot takes more then two. Well, its kind of a set rate, lets say you doing brakes, the average time for that is 4 hours thats set in general, after much practice they would take only two but still charge you for the 4 hrs.

yea u see the part is about 64 from dealership and thats fine because even outside u can find for like not that less. I am getting the part myself but the rest 250 is freakign labor, and i cant seem to find someone who can do this for me in much less cos seriously dude iam financially in trouble right now and if i could i wld get it fixed from dealership but just cannot afford !! know wat i mean.

oh yeah im pretty broke here also and i did a bit of search and apparently it can take anywhere from and hour to about 3 to change the cv boot. Expensive as hell but the pricing does make sense, a bit.
