Default Importing a new A5

I am thinking of importing a new A5 from the US to Canada.

I believe Audi USA doesn't allow new Audis to be sold to Canadians. My friend has a US address. Is there any way around this?

Also, any idea what the difference in features between a US A5 Premium and a Canadian A5 Premium are?

Is the $ difference really worth the import? (if it is at all possible) and what is the $ difference approx ?

Thanks

Not to be an ***, but you should try researching some of this yourself instead of someone else doing the leg work for you. Add another 15% to the price at the boarder on top of your purchase price.

I got 6.1% not 15% as a border fee on another forum, plus 5% GST

Agreed, + gas or transport to get the vehicle, plus AC tax, plus inspections here, plus registration, plus RIV fees, and all the other little costs. Roughly 13-15% on top of purchase price

One problem with this is that when you buy a new car in the US I believe they actually mail the title to your address but I think it needs to be a real address, not a PO Box. Sorry if I'm assuming but I got from your post that your friends address is not attached to a dwelling of any kind?

It's an apartment address, not a PO Box. Would that work? But the bank draft would probably have my Canadian bank on it...

Is it really worth importing one from the US?

To equip their Premium to the same level as our Premium, add to the base price of $36,500, WPS for $3,700, PT1 for $700, 4A3 for $450, UF7 for $300. On top of this, ours also has Auto dimming mirrors with compass and Memory for drivers seat and mirrors.

Our retail is $46,200 - $41,650 for the US = a $4,550 difference.

I believe the car still needs to be a used car. You would need someone to buy it for you new and then you buy it from them.

If the previous post is correct about the small difference in price then this is probably too much work for the savings anyway?

What is there to doubt? It's pretty clear.

I have just completed the process on an a5 cabriolet premium plus that was surplused by a US dealer and peddled by another non-ausi dealer making qualify for used. I did okay on the deal because I was able to get a car that was not loaded right up and the price was siginificant BUT I did get less car also. I have an a5 at 10G less than I could get it here. Thats significant in my bank account. I have spent most of it getting tires, paint protection, tinting, etc that can be dealt on at the dealerships here. I used U Can Import to make this happen for me. Best $250 I ever spent.
