The next new guy
Hi all,
I'm the next new guy here I guess. I'm a senior software developer here in Vancouver, looking to make a change before I lose it and go postal here. My wife and I watch F1 and MotoGP when they're running, along with the occasional WRC, ALMS, and World Superbike. We're wine enthusiasts, and sometimes-runners.
I bought my 2002 A4 new in Tucson, AZ when I lived down there. (Born and raised outside Vancouver here.) I moved back just after five years of living in AZ and brought my car and motorcycle back with me.
My wife bought her 2008 A4 Avant 2.0T back in June. And my 2008-now-2009-will-I-have-it-by-2010 S5 has been on order since December 2, 2007.
Funny story, actually. We went by the dealership (Openroad) last December to pick up my car after having it serviced, and as we were leaving I said, "Hey, let's walk over to the showroom... last week they had an R8 in here." Well, they didn't have an R8, but they did have a white... what. is. that! Turns out it was the new S5, which I hadn't seen before. My wife had been itching to upgrade from her Ford Focus, and between her and the S5 that I test drove... well, we walked out of there that day having ordered two new Audis.
So, she has hers, but mine's still on order.
Anyway, in the meantime, my 2002 A4 is in *serious* need of a new clutch. *knock-on-wood* It's not slipping. Yet. But I've been babying the clutch for at least a year and a half now. There's no way I'll be able to stretch it through the winter, which is when I theoretically might see my new car. Plus, who wants to try to sell a car that can't really be test-driven because the clutch is vapourized?
So, I'm here to do a little forum searching and see if I can find some recommendations for shops in the Lower Mainland to get my clutch done.
Well, that's my story. So far, at least. Time to pack up and get out of this lunatic asylum they call an "office".
Ciao,
~Jeff

Re: The next new guy
Hello Jeff, it's great to have you here.
Wow, you sure have an interesting story there. I'm sure someone will be able to recommend a shop to fix your clutch in the Western Region section of the forum.
