Hey all,

My name is PK and I just purchased my first Audi this week and I've come to join this forum for many insightful posts from experienced Audi owners all around Canada.
I will be a noob when it comes to German cars so please be patient with me

I'm an aerospace engineer who just obtained the P.Eng license (hence I'm calling myself Engineer lol), and I've been out of school for just over 3 years now (I studied 7 years, 4 yrs undergrad and 3 yrs grad )
I had been driving a 07 Civic for 6.5 years throughout school and work.
I loved my Civic because it was so reliable and cheap on gas, but it was time to move on.
I knew there were lot better cars out there performance and feature wise, but I just couldn't leave my 6 year old Civic, it was like an old relationship with your first girlfriend that you just couldn't even think of ending it because you are so used to it!
Anyways, I decided to man-up one day and cut the ties... and I found my 2010 A4 to replace the Civic.
Decision was easier when my girlfriend who I was planning on marrying in a year or two, got accepted to Waterloo Optometry, and we had to postpone plans until she is done... (4 years )

Anyways, all ranting aside, I am happy to be here now with my new-used-A4, and looking forward to getting helps (and giving helps too, eventually) for years to come.
My immediate things-to-do list include:
* HID conversion: Currently have the stock halogens which I can't stand (had HIDs on my old civic all these years). Will need to know how difficult this is when DIY. HIDcanada.com is where I go usually to buy the kits.
* Computer language: I'm a Korean descendant and I listen to K-Pop (ya ya laugh it off guys lol), and I want to know if other language can be supported on the display (showing proper song titles etc). Will need to what equipment is needed.
* Tint: A4 came with a medium-level tint. I had full pitch black tint on my civic and I honestly thought I could tone-up a bit this time but I actually miss the pitch-black tint. Not a big sun fan (I get sun burn easily), and I dress black often as well. Anyways, will need to know if going to a non-dealer tint shop is a good idea.

That is my short list for now, and I don't plan to act quickly on any of them yet, I still want to enjoy this new purchase for a while but definitely will be looking at those 3 things in the future.

Thanks guys and happy forumming!

HID install/wiring is easy. I'd class it the same level of difficulty as an oil change.

That's good to know.
I'm assuming you are only talking about ballast mount/install and bulb replacement, right? (not replacing the headlamps)

You'd have to remove the headlamps to install HID.

Not hard, I think it's 7 screws in total, there is a panel thats held on above the headlight by 3 screws, remove these, closest to the fender is another screw you remove, then there are 3 screws that you only loosen (you can remove them but not neccessary). Of the last 3 mentioned, 1 should be on the rad support, 1 below your P/S resevoir, and 1 between the 2 around the back of the headlamp in the middle.

I'm sure if you search, there's probably a DIY somewhere.
