Hi Andy, welcome! As a soon to be owner of an A3 2.0T, I'm considering the purchase of APR Stage 1 software. Not sure if you've gotten this request before:

I'm probably going to be leasing the vehicle for 4 years, and as such, does APR offer the ability to flash the software on a leased vehicle, then if/when the vehicle is returned or traded to another APR-compatible vehicle, "de-flash" the original vehicle and flash the newer vehicle for something other than the full fee?

I think offering a "lease-friendly" chipping service would be very attractive to many of us that would love to have the APR software, but are reluctant to do so with the thought of the added performance getting handed back with the car at the end of the lease. Being able to transfer the software to another vehicle would be a great selling feature and reward your customers loyalty.

Any thoughts? Thanks and welcome again!

We have an "APR Warranty Transfer" policy, however this was not designed to accomodate "Leased" vehicles.

This was put in place for folks that are unfortunate enough to total their car, or get a lemoned car, or something along those lines.

The policy is like this: You can transfer the software from one car to the next if the above situation has occurred, however the transfer can only be done to the same Make and Engine type, not different.

So: VW 1.8t to VW 1.8ts

or Audi 1.8t to Audi 1.8ts and so forth.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank You-

Hi Andy, glad to see you here!

With B5 S4 soldered-in 4 slot APR chip, K04's and VAST piggies, could you share what the difference is between the Stage 1 91 perf Code and Stage 2+ 91 Perf Code ? Is it as simple as Stage 1 monitors rear O2's just like OEM code and Stage 2+ doesn't monitor rear O2's... or are there other differences too?

You will not be able to run Both Stage 1 in one Slot and Stage II in the other. It does not work like this. You will only be able to run one stage, and the octanes is what would change.

Hope this helps?
