Puled the trigger on a TTS ... the waiting begins !
I'm told early June delivery for my white TT. Aside from parking sensors, the car will have no options. Went with 18" wheels (not too fond of the 19's) and figure I'll decide on a winter wheel or use OEM's for winter and go with lightweight summers. Anyone know the weight of the OEM wheels/ tires? Feedback or suggestions on wheels would be appreciated.
I also went with non-bose as I'm likely going to go with an upgrade that will have bluetooth, ipod interface and NAV for less than 1/2 of the cost of OEM bose/ nav options.
Regarding modding, I'm certainly comfortable with chipping having done a couple of cars in the past but have read that upgrading the DP/cat can bring on boost 1,000 rpm earlier ? Anyone have info or first hand experience ?
TIA !
Steve

I've never purchased a new vehicle - that must suck to have to wait so long for a new toy!
I have no idea what those specific wheels weigh, but if it's anything like most of the other VAG wheels, it's damn close to 30lbs! I shaved 13lbs per corner with my Ultraleggera/RE-01R combo.
I also don't know about the gain in spool from a DP/cat on that specific car, but there's no way it's going to be 1000RPM Unless VAG needed to save some cash on DP piping and opted to use the old electrical conduit that they had in the scrap-pile out back...
Good call ditching the Bose - I'd recommend checking out Dynaudio or Focal drivers. Speakers are going to be 90% of any improvement in audio quality, and not buying anything you'd find at a big-box store will go a long way in this regard. The headunit isn't going to matter much as long as you don't get total crap.
Congrats on the new ride

Thx Chheba. Its been a while since I got a new car (last 2 were used). The good news is I've got a fun whip to play in while I'm waiting. With new wheels/ tires shaving 8 lbs on it (and a few bolt ons bringing it to 200 hp to the wheels) I'll do my best to enjoy the warmer weather in my red "chick car":

Nice to have a new one. Mine had only 1685 miles on it and I just love that car to bits. Bought it in Denver and drove it back, what a thrill.
I would have thought that doing a mod to the engine would create warranty issues. Am I wrong?
Cheers

Modding can cause issues with warranty BUT only if the problem can be directly related to the mod. This rarely happens and I've had very positive experience with my past cars and local dealership.
