Re: Mk2 TT, DRL on Canadian model
apparently my new car and I are a make work project... thanks for the replies 1move. I have gotten at my switch and the wiring. i had a tech get me a wiring diagram that i can't figure out and am now trying to 'put power' to the park lights so that i can pull them out of the switch and wire them into an ignition wire.... until my tech can take a look at my handywork in a few weeks and add a resistor or some such if required.
any ideas which number or numbers of wires i need to pull out of the switch? there are about 15 - 20 of them nicely numbered...

I have called a shop here in Victoria 2x and they still haven't returned my call to even book a time to look at it for me. 'bypass the DRL switch' sounded so simple! LOL but once i opened it up not so sure i'm up to the task - oh and my headlight switch has 4 settings: off, park lights, headlights and pull out for fog lights - no seperate DRL switch -

Tried that first... apparently the TTs didn't get the headlight control module until 2007?? Or so my Audi Tech says (Audi Tech is not in the same City as I am or I would not have these problems)... I have had the car hooked up to a VAG-Com and the guy doing it said he couldn't access the lights - he did manage to change all my readouts from miles to km for me though

SUCCESS!
for future reference... on an 04 TT you do not need to tear apart the whole lower portion of the dash. In the end all I needed to do was pop out the switch, unplug it jump wires 13 and 14 to the big red/black wire at the end postion (1 I think) and presto park lights that come on when you turn the key and can't be overriden by the switch.
