Default 08TT Loud Brake Squealing NOISE HELP

My original post somehow were not posted here it is again...
I have a 08TT 3.2 bought new now 10000KM
My first Audi, always had mercedes and BMW
I am very Angry and Frustrated with AUDI, My TT developed this annoying, loud embarassing brake squealing noise.
A quick internet search, indicaated that it is a ongoing world wide problem, even A4 A3 R8.
I first took it to a dealer, they were so rude telling me endless excuses like, it is normal, I was not dirving aggressive enough, too wet, too cold, all high performance cars are the same.... blah blah blah so stupid, and eventually gave me a pamplet stating these noises are normal, basically telling me to **** off and nothing they can do.
I then call Audi head office customer relation (which all affected should call as they should be forced to look after this, not giving us a pamplet saying it is normal and expect us to go away. if u have an 08 after AUDI soon this will happen to your car) He first told me the same thing nothing they can do.. I thold he was joking expecting I would be OK to live with this. Then I told him to google this problem (obviously he knows) and I also found a offical internal TSB technical serivce bulliten regarding this specific issue and told him about, then he said he will arrange a service.
Next day , got a call from service mamager from AUDI toronto dt, telling me the same BS, and saying he has the same car the noise is normal he is OK about it.. I told him if he had to pay $60000+ for it, then I think he would NOT be OK with it.
The week after my Car went in for this TSB service and the noise went away for 2 months and NOW BACK...
The issue is that they know about this issue and not only not interested in fixing it, but also not telling any potential buyers about it. then come up with these insulting excuses blamming the buyer or calling it NORMAL.
The google search also indicated a US class action suit regarding this matter few won as we do not have "lemon law" in Canada. but there is an agency Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan that all affected owners can file a complaint to. i am sure if enough of us filing a complaint it will force AUDI to fix this problem, in addition, I think the media , newspaper should know about this too.
I was very offended when the Service manager basically told me , quote " my driving habbit" is not suitable for these car?? huh? Then how come so many people in this WORLD has the same problem?
I would appreciate any thoughts in this matters or any solutions which I doubt that there any.. Sad I do like the car.

sorry to hear about your experience... have you tried other audi dealerships such as audi of mississauga or newmarket? perhaps they could pinpoint the problem and offer a solution...

This is a very common problem! The issue is the mineral brake pads, and the hot rotors. What happens they glaze over with oil and when you hit the breaks and are coming to a stop it makes a very high pitched squeling sound which is the glazing/ brake pads slipping at that moment in time, hence the noise as the gap is a very small. You can replace your pads and use these Click Here

Your other option is to go to an open road and take the car to 60-80km/h and hit the breaks hard, to slow down to 15-20km/h, but DO NOT STOP! Do this 3 times, as bad as this sounds it burns off the glazing and it does not allow the rotors to glaze over again. Drive for another 10 minutes so the breaks/rotors have time to cool off without breaking at all! This will solve the problem Temporarly only.

In order for you to extend it and get rid of the noise, change your breaking habbit. Dont think I am attacking you but this is the only way pretty much, as you arent "breaking" to Audi's liking. When coming to a stop dont hold the brake all the way down until you stop, but decelerate with the brake and at about 15-10km/h release the brake for a few seconds and then apply again to come to a full stop but all in a smooth motion without jerking the crap out of the car. The noise will go away, hope that helps and let me know how it works out for you.

So now that I have helped you with this, do me a favour and next time please use the search button as I have written this a few times before.

Keep us posted and welcome to the website, hopefully you become an active member.

First do the things as described in the steps above, just to make sure that this is the issue, which I am 99% sure it is. Once you do this a few times the problem should go away. to replace your break pads you are looking at about $500-$900 labour for all 4 + the cost of your pads. So it doesent come cheap. i would change the driving habit a bit and let these pads wear out a little bit, as they are fairly new. The steps mentioned above should get rid of the problem.
