actually the parking light bulb is a h6w, also its real easy to reach the parking light. i'll describe it as best as i can. when looking at your driver side headlight look to the left of the headlight you will see like a plug going into the headlight with no wires, twist that sucker off and you'll see there is a bulb and thats where the parking lights are located.

Hey Jazz,

Here's a couple links with pictures if you need...

Remove and Replace the Front Parking/Turn Signal bulbs taken from Jeff's 2001 Audi TT quattro Roadster page

Changing Bulbs taken from Waks Wide Web complete with bulb diagram

It's pretty straightforward once you get in there.

Have you heard of both low beam bulbs going out at the same time? My hig beams and fogs work great.

That would be pretty rare. I'd check your fuses and relays first.

Yeah, thanks for this. My front marker light is out. Ugh. And I'm about to suck it up and buy a new set of headlight bulbs as well (it looks like buddy only changed one, and now they glow differently!)

As it turned out a used a service called "justanswer.com" paid $9.00 to get my question answered by an Audi Technicain and he suggested it might be a defective headlight switch (in the dash) or the switch on the column. Told me how to remove the dash switch, very easy. I bought a new switch and it solved the issue of the low beams but then the fogs quit working. I put the old switch back in and suddenly everything started working. Been working for several days now. Must have been a loose connection in the wireing harness plug. I am sending the switch back and the whole thing ending up costing me about 2-3 hours and $9.00. If you want to check the switch here is the $9.00 answer

"The most common cause for losing both low beams simultaneously on this year model vehicle equipped with the Xenon HID system would be either the headlight switch itself or the combination stalk switch, comprised of the two levers to the left behind the steering wheel, and include the turn signal, high beam/low beam, and cruise control switches.

Electrical testing of the system is a bit ambiguous so the most common method of diagnosis would be to first replace the headlight switch with a new or know good unit. If that failed to correct the problem the stalk switch assembly would then be replaced.

The head light switch is very easy to replace. Grasping the ****, if you push in, then twist the **** clockwise about 5 degrees while holding the **** in, this will release the switch from the dash board. At this time wiggle the switch up and down while pulling gently and the switch should come out. Sometimes it is easiest to push the switch out from the back (under dash panel must be previously removed).

If the headlight switch failed to correct the problem and the stalk switch is to be replaced; The repairs are more difficult and require special tools, procedures and associated safety precautions to remove the steering wheel and airbag.

Good luck.
