Good news, they obviously recognize it's a item that fails on a regular basis before the maintenance interval. You must be very relieved.

WOW!
I'm amazed at your outcome.
Especially after they've sent us all a cheque for $250 for our coil packs that most of us changed years ago!
I wonder if it's worth a trip to my local dealer about the roof rails blistering.
This is a very common problem. Anybody else seen this. I might start a new thread on this one.

I still have faith in the VW / Audi group, so glad they came thru for you. I had my TT in for an oil change service 2 weeks ago and they swapped out all my coil packs under warranty so i was pleased they did that.
Like you I'm 49 also, previously owned a Jetta, my wife has an 2006 Jetta presently. Our family is VW / Audi crazy. My sister has a Tiguan, my brother in law a Passat CC, their 3 boys have two Golfs and a Jetta, you get the idea....

Yup, my drivers side roof rail is just starting to bubble slightly in one spot. I meant to ask about this being covered during my last service but forgot. I hear it's a commom problem too.
