Front Bumper Swap

Front Bumper Swap
Hey folks - great forum, looking forward speaking with you all.
I have a problem - cracked my 2000 TT front bumper (bottom grills & everything) pretty bad, but the main piece with the corporate logo, grille, ugly nose, etc are all completely fine.
The body shop cannot replace just the bottom "piece" / grills because apparently its all one unit!
They want $1850 for the swap, everything in. I read somewhere a long time ago that the 2006 V6 3.2 front bumper (that has the awesome built-in lip at the bottom) is swappable with the 2000 1.8 Quattro that I have and is only a few bills more at the same shop.
Can anyone confirm the 2006 V6 3.2 will in fact fit on the 2000 1.8 Quattro, including keeping my alien headlight washers active?
Thank you so much.
Sam

Re: Front Bumper Swap
Hey Jazz!! Thanks!! That's the best news I've heard all week. My body shop will only do very basic OEM-based swaps so hopefully it works. Do you know anyone that has done this swap? Take care and thanks for the reply!

Re: Front Bumper Swap
The whole kit is awesome, but i'm in canada, so the currency rate and shipping/duty/customs all together makes parts shipments very expensive for me. To be honest, i'm saving up for the new model, probably early 2010 so if I can get minor upgrades here and there in the meantime affordably, might as well
