LEDs for H3 DRL/fogs?
I've searched several TT forums and there doesn't seem to be much info on this topic. I've been using PIAA Crystal Ions bulbs for my DRL/fog lights, because I liked the look and performance of of them on my previous car. Unfortunately, they have a lifetime of less than 6 months in my TT. Has anyone tried H3 LED bulbs? I realize they won't be as bright, but since TT fog lights are useless as fog lights anyway (even with the PIAAs), I just want something as DRLs that other drivers can see. The bulbs are a pain to get at, so I'd rather not be replacing them again.
I am not getting any codes or warning lights from a burned out bulb, yet I've read that using LEDs might cause an error code. If the system isn't telling me of a burned out bulb, then I'm guessing it won't complain about bulbs that have less current draw? I don't want to spend the extra money on "error-free" bulbs if I won't get the error anyway.

If you find something out about the use of LED's as driving lights please post it up. Like you I get 6 months at best from the fogs, and they are usless as you mentioned in the fog. I'd love to replace mine also with something that would last as a DRL.

I decided to give the OEM H3's another try this time. My independent shop said he has not had problems with them. If they don't last very long, I'll try the LED route again.
