Ice Racing Event - February

Re: Ice Racing Event - February
I'm located in downtown Toronto and since Port Perry is east and burlington is west, is there a spot along the route I could meet you guys? I looked at the map and it looks like the 401 is probably the best way of getting there. I guess I'll contact mhupel and ask him.

Re: Ice Racing Event - February
I have some bad news for all. This event is cancelled for tomorrow and will be rescheduled.
The plow truck operator can't commit to clearing the snow off the ice because of the impending snowfall. We can't get on the ice with all the snow that is built up on it. The ice condition is perfect but there are large drifts and deep snow built up.
I will plan on rescheduling this event in a week or so.
Sorry for any inconvenience and hope all read this notice.
Thanks

Re: Ice Racing Event - February
This is a great idea and if a professional instructor is there, most of the drivers, some not greatly experienced on ice and snow, could get some good lessons and safe experience as opposed to "in traffic". Unfortunately, I see the event has been cancelled and as it's getting late in the winter and temps increasing, the ice may not be safe on Lake Scugog much longer. I think that this a great idea to plan for next year. Should be scheduled for mid February I think. I'd go to such an event and bring the wife as well. She's afraid of ice and snow. Had some bad experiences. Me ....... I love the ice and snow - especially with the quattro and WRG2 Nokians!
