Fall Cruise Through Muskoka - October 24th.
Hey Everyone,
Looks like fall is here and the leaves are going to be changing soon.
I know I'm new on here but I was hoping there would be some interest in doing a cruise up through Muskoka around the lakes on a Saturday or Sunday in October. For those not familiar with the area, there are some great "driver" roads up there and the scenery is incredible (photo ops and rolling shots!).
I was thinking of doing a loop around the North side of the lakes through Bracebridge, across the top of Lk. Muskoka, up around Rosseau, down between Rosseau and Joe for some late lunch in Port Carling at Turtle Jacks. After lunch, down through Bala and then a blast down Southwood Road (Check out the article here: Ontarios Best Driving Roads imclumzys Weblog). I've driven it a few time now on the way home from the cottage and all I can say is !
If you're interested let me know.

Re: Fall Cruise Through Muskoka
Dave, that is a great initiative and a great idea! The best is to pick the date and ask for response to a poll for the interest level. I can assist in promoting this for you on the forum. This would be a lot of fun and a great way to get together. Join us on the Oct 8th event at Audi of Mississauga to further promote and discuss the event.
Great job!!

I've added the poll and given the options for the two days I had in mind. I hope there's some interest because it's a very nice drive. Plus, that weekend should be free of most cottagers and traffic should be light.

Re: Fall Cruise Through Muskoka
So here is my proposal for a firm date and time.
Date: Sunday October 24th
Meeting Location: Costco Barrie (Exit highway 400 NB at Mapleview Drive (exit 90). Turn right on Mapleview. First Right into parking lot. I suggest meeting in the Northwest corner of the parking lot by the gas pumps).
Meeting Time: I know some of you will be coming from a fair distance so I was thinking some time between 9:30-10:00AM.
The Plan: Depart Costco at 10:00 AM (I'll provide the coffees) and head north along the 400 to Bracebridge. Still working out the exact details of the route but I will have directions and maps printed for those that want to join. After a tour around LK Muskoka and up around Rosseau (a couple of stops for pictures on the water and with the foliage). Stop in Port Carling For lunch and then (as mentioned before) a hike down to Bala and then Southwood Rd.
Please respond to this post with either a YES or NO and the # of people and we can an idea of how many people will be joining, if lunch plans need to be made and how much coffee I need to grab .
