Re: Key Programming
Man that makes 4!! Anyone know where that one is in an A6 before I go poking around. Guessing it must be somewhere near the alarm horn on the drivers side of the trunk...

Re: Key Programming
The wire is located in the rear passenger side bumper panelling/ rear side fender paneling. There is a metal L shaped pice with a black and white wire and this is the location it terminates. Buy some more copper wiring from like home depot or something strip the end of the black and white wire and attach the other stripped copper wire to it run it along the back bumper to the other side make sure you kind of hide it away so it does not rust but it has to be stripped to get the effect and the range. Or wind up a coil of stripped wire and hid it underneath the same place where you found the black and white wire. PM me if you have questions

Re: Key Programming
As for replacing the B6 remote with a B7 remote it can be done. It is fairly simple and takes about 30 minutes. take appart your B6 key, and the B7 key. Behind the rings on the B6 key there should be a screw or two you need to remove those carefully and the imobilizer chip will be hidden in there. Take it out Locate the one in the B7 key should be the top right hand corner. So now that you have that done you can get the key cut according to your B6 Key or you can take the switch blade out of your B6 key place it into the B7 housing and done. But that option is not as nice and the switch blade is a bit shorter than the B7 keyblade.

Re: Key Programming
What if I've only got one key and the spares that aren't remotes? I'm worried that when I unlock the door with my key that I'll set off the alarm, and since the remote doesn't work I won't be able to get it to stop. Also, the car is stuck at work and don't want it to go crazy. Anyone have any experience with it?
Thanks in advance.
