Default Won't shift anymore

My car stopped working last night, it won't shift into any gears. It feels like there is a wall when I try to shift into 1st & 3rd. It seemed eaiser to shift into 2nd & 4th. This problem has been going on for a week, then last night in the middle of driving to the store, i couldn't shift anymore. The engine would just rev everytime I would think it was in gear. i'll have to get it towed tomorrow to a repair shop, does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Well it looks like transmission from the sound of it. But if your clutch pedal vibrates it also could be your clutch. You can shift into those gears if its the clutch, but you really gotta push it in, i mean really. Or turn off your car put it in first then start it up again lol

All jokes aside, check if the clutch pedal feels softer and shakes like crazy, thats indication of clutch. It may happen when you race or it may happen when you making a turn going 10 km/hr. If it is the clutch, your looking at about 1000$.

Keep us posted!

Thanks for your reply. One thing you said is very true, I had to push in the clutch REALLY hard to get it into 1st or 2nd. I felt no vibration, the clutch pedal didn't shake. Everything has felt fine until I go to shift into a gear, it's like the gear slots aren't there anymore. It feels like everything is in neutral, and I don't feel the slots.

ooh thats sounds pretty bad, then your clutch is fine, something wrong with the tranny. There are alot of parts in the manual transmission so its very hard to tell unless you look at it. Sadly it may cost little to a fortune. Sorry to hear about your car brother, thats really bad luck. Lets see what the mechanic says tomorrow.
EDIT: Problem with cars are that there are so many things that can go wrong and its very hard to tell the difference! I swear to me break squeak and a problem with steering column still sound too similar lol
