I have owned my coupe quattro for some years and it has been the greatest car ever . I decided to rebuild the entire car and took it to a friend who owns a VW shop. Big mistake, it has been 19months and the car is still sitting without the engine in it. I have spent $6000 dollars already and have nothing to show for it, other then a new paint job and parts in various machine shops. I finally checked into why there were no pistons available ( so the excuse goes from the mechanic) and ,,,, yes, you guessed it within 15mns I sourced 83mm pistons from back East. Does anyone have any other reputable delaers in their area. I realize this is an old car but she is not replaceable to me. Everyone wants to buy it as it is a great rally car.......... not selling. ! Advise would be helpful, thanx. Yes, I am a blonde female but not car stupid.
