Default Questions for the Pros...PPC(RICA)

First thanks in advance for any advise.

I've got a 2002 Audi TT Quattro 180hp. Recently added Borola cat back exhaust system, then thought it would be a good idea to go with Rica's PPC tuner at a little over 1K. Been having some problems with this unit and not getting quite the support from the company I purchase it from. This was supposed to give approx. +30 hp but what I've noticed is: it pulls really great in first thru third gears throughout the RPM range, fourth and fifth gears have a slight "miss" from about 3800 rpm- 5500 rpm, pulling hard then it just drops off for a second and then back to pulling. This seems strange to me. The company I purchased the programmer from said he has had several customers cars take up to a week before the car has "adjusted'" to the new programming. Does this make any sense to anyone, sounds odd to me but I'm no programmer... Also when I tried to flash the car back to it's "stock," program the program seems to load but then the car won't start. Just starting to feel a little "had," by this PPC. I know that Rica is a good company but this is just driving me nuts. Any help or thoughts is much appreciated. I'm also wondering if adding a better DV than stock would be of any benefit or a waste of 200 bones? Thanks for your time. I love this crazy little car it's a blast to drive but I'm struggling with this...

Well Softwares are fixed, and can only be reprogrammed changing the bed doesnt solve problem but if you poar more fuel to air you might buils more carbon on metal bits that could cause bedding
