Default Problem setting up Homelink

I have a 2009 A4 Avant which I'm having problem setting up homelink. I have followed the instructions in the Audi manual as well as reading up info on various forums and vising homelink.com, but still with no success.

I have reset the factory code by pressing "I" and "III" together. The instruction then says I should 1) press the button I want to program, 2) take the original remote and point to the front grill where the Audi logo is, 3) press the button for 15-60 secs until the hazzard lights blink. Well, I have pressed the button but the hazzard lights never blinked. I have also tried pointing the remote at different thing (the right headlight as some posts suggested as well as from inside the car).

Could this be that my remote is not compatible with Homelink? I have attached a picture of the remote, which is for various garage doors in my condo.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The signal is not strong enough! So two problems can cause this:
1) Weak battery in the remote opener!
2) The signals here emit for about 1-3 seconds which is not enough for the audi to pick it up press the button several time constantly in pretty much 1 second intervals!

For the 2009 mode, should I point the remote at the front grill? I read confliting post where to point (some says under right headlight, other says inside the car, etc). Not sure if that is because they are older model...

Which is your right headlight? they can both be rights! Point it between the passenger headlight and the grill, lower the the passenger headlight, sort of where your tow hook is!

Some Cars usually dont show up with a manual! And also you should try and read all posts before jumping to assumptions!

Thanks for those who responded, but still no luck.

For absolute certainty, I have aimed at the circled area below. Please advise if this is the wrong area to aim.
Thanks

That's where it is. Make sure you press the opener repeatedly until you see the lights flash.
