Potential issues with this car?
Hello all. Let me quickly introduce myself. I don't own an Audi--yet. I have always admired them and am thinking of buying on as a daily driver. Idrove an A4 3.0--2002? Back when it was new, liked it better then BMW.
I have the whole year to do so (leased car goes back in Jan 2011 or earlier if I really want)
I am wondering what are recall issues, known troubles and how reliable the car is.
Is there alot of (pricey) maintenance involved.
Here is a car that caught my eye. I can't link the ad. Its on kijiji..a blue 98 A4 2.8, pls check it out.
any comments are welcome, thanks very much!

i had that car...it was awsome.
however i had a few control arm issues, power steering pump needed to be replaced, and ecu.
regular maintenance was done, it ran very well.

3.0l engine does not have a sterling reputation.
Nightmare for work on, reliability is quite questionable.
Do your homework of searching for infos .
(no doubt the prices are this $$$ atractive)

2.8 is one of the best - not a capricesive at all. Might leak oil, but hey this is a German car.
Maintenance involved - based on your risk and patience tolerance - just as with investments.
If it doesn't break - don't replace it. Otherwise => any German car easily transforms into one’s *******
