Granted I am a 'light user' on this site, but I have one major pet peeve. I have been seeing a few posts created with regards to 'Illuminated Check Engine Light", but that is it. No explanation, condition/environment when it was first noticed, or any symptoms that accompanied the check engine light.

A simple "A Check Engine Light is on, what's wrong" post is, in my opinion, a waste of time and should not be posted. Anyone can take a wild guess of why.

Can I make a suggestion to all those who are having these issues with a check engine light. My advise would be to: 1. Post a detailed description of what you were doing and the mechanical symptoms you have when the light came on OR 2. Get the vehicle scanned and if you do not know how, a Dealer or local shop can do it for you or maybe you can do it yourself with the proper tools (see lots of past posts). Once the vehicle is scanned, by all means post what you found out and I am sure you will get the help you need.
