New Speed Rules in BC

Re: New Speed Rules in BC
Yah I drove the Autobahn several years ago from Frankfurt to Munich, early on a Sunday morning to go down to Oktoberfest. I was with my Dad in his BMW, he said "I'm going to have nap, keep it below 160km". Right Dad whatever you say. It is safe but you have to be skilled and attentive always looking way ahead, things come up awfully fast at 200k.
As far a getting an Autobahn lane here, what a dream. Firstly most drivers aren't capable enough, and of course our nanny gov's would never consider it.

Re: New Speed Rules in BC
We drove up to Whistler yesterday (Friday) for the week-end, and the Radar police were out in force. At one trap nears Lion's Bay they had tow trucks there (the Cops brother probably owns the towing company). I knew they were there because it was on the traffic report, so I was behaving myself. But as we were driving by (at 90km) they were towing two cars away, going faster than 120km I guess. The trap was near the bottom of a hill, and around a bend, deadly.

Nope, it's a different place now. Lion's Bay is about 25km north of Horseshoe Bay. It's all four lanes between the two (and gorgeous). None-the-less, it's a very sneaky and unfair spot for a speed trap, you'd coast down the hill at faster than the speed limit, which is a ridiculous 80km: should be at least 100. They spent almost a Billion dollars on that highway, and the speed limit is the same as when the road was little more than an expanded BC Hydro right-of-way.
