Default Improving the Alarm SYstem

I just ordered a 2011 Q5 3.0 S-LIne and athough I don't know too much about the alarm that comes with it I am looking to see if any one has improved on it. Has any one installed a vicinity alarm, or one that can alert me by email and also allow the car to be tracked by GPS if it is stolen. Thanks.

yes. there's all kinds of systems out there. Viper has very good rep. There are others. Try DEI, Directed Electronics website for your research. Think they're based in California. You can buy systems from a local retailer or from an on-line authorized discounter. Think he buys slightly older systems and sells at big discounts to current year systems. DEI make Clifford and Viper alarms and a few more brands. Not sure if they make GPS tracking systems though. There are a number of GPS and cellular tracking systems out there. Personally, I would go with a high quality alarm/immobilizer/remote starting etc. system PLUS a tracking system. DEI aren't only alarm co. out there, but I've used their alarms for past 21 years. On my 3rd DEI system now.
