Default Finally: Coilpack Recalls

VAG will soon be issuing coilpack recalls for all 1.8T vehicles - this is coming from multiple dealer sources. About freakin' time. . .

What about the 3.0 6cyl. Dosen't that engine have the same coil packs and thus the same issue?

What is the issue with the coil packs? What are symptoms of a problem?
Thanks

not just 1.8T~ some 2001-2007 model vehicles that equipped with ignition coils, Audi of Canada will issue notice by mail on Oct.23.2009.

Audi dealership will replace ignition coils in affected vehicle at no cost to customer. Please book your appointment with your preferred dealership after receving the letter to ensure part availability.

When ignition coil malfunctioning, it will cause MIL on or flashing, Misfiring/rough idle, lose power/performance and exceed federal emission standards.

Yeah, from what I've heard - which is by no means definitive - VAG will be recalling the 1.8Ts first, then moving on to other engines. That said, they may just go by manufacture date and do all the engines at once.

I just typed my VIN here
Audi Canada > Your Audi > Owners > Audi Recall and Campaign Search

and it showed the coil pack recall
