ECU Flash

ECU Flash
To flash or not to flash that is the question.
Debating to flash the ecu of my 2002 A4 1.8 Quatro with tripronic. Thinking of APR program for 91 octane. What is the experience out here? Good results? Any problems? Worth the $500?
Thanks in advance

Re: ECU Flash
True power will come from Turbo and exhaust tuning. That's more money.
They also provide software to establish the Immobilizer within their software. The key to this software is that you must never allow any flashed after the APR flash is installed. If you do, kiss your $500.00 goodbye.
ECM's are cheap now. You can have the best of both worlds with a stock (if additional flashing is required) and an APR flashed controller. The original controller can be cloned with the Immobilizer and later flashed with APR. Call them, they may also have an "on the fly" de-tuning program for valet use.
As for the Tiptronic, I believe there's a flash available for the AG5. I've tried one on an S4 and it made a huge difference for crisp and positive shifting. Be aware of the total KM on that transmission. It's is not recommended on transmissions that are nearing the 90K mark. By then, at least two oil changes should have been completed. Audi may call it life time fluid, that is just not true.
This company: http://www.neuspeed.com/home.asp is very good also.
Via DLC, this company is also very good and have dealers across North America http://www.revotechnik.com/
There's a few near you and one in Oakville (Cross Avenue Auto)
