Default Dealerships forging customer signatures...

To all of the fellow Audi enthusiasts and consumers, please check all of your paperwork when you purchase a vehicle--especially from an "authorized" dealership. I have recently come to find out, and have the dealership acknowledge in writing, that an employee forged my signature on a service contract. What is "strange" about this was that I did in fact purchase the contract, so that was never an issue, but to be told by an employee in the business office that "...well, it looks like your signature", and to have the general sales manager explain it as "someone who simply thought that he was acting in your best interest" is completely unacceptable. Audi Of America is investigating, and the irony there is that Scott Keogh, president of Audi Of America, sits on the management board for this dealership (The Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills, Ca). What is just as disturbing is that the police won't take a report because "there was no intent to defraud". So, a company has all of my credit information, my Social Security number, a copy of the check I wrote as a down payment (for a 2013 Audi TT-RS) and copies of my signature from all of the documents I did sign to take delivery, and the employee did "such a good job" forging my signature that even one of his co-workers remarks that "it looks like your signature", but I have no recourse on this? I would like to post the letter I received from the dealership so that this is not "taken out of context". Even finding legal advice on this has revealed how this type of behavior is "tolerated"--the forgery laws don't seem to deter this type of behavior.

Oh, has anybody ever heard of the "Audi Driving Experience"? This is what the dealership has offered to make amends for this. The very reason I requested a copy of my service contract was to follow up and make sure that the service was setup so that I would not have to go back to the dealership--in the Audi\JD Powers' survey I submitted (they earned a "2" rating out of a possible "10"), one of the comments I posted was that the dealership lacks integrity. And then I find out about the forgery.

Once I can get the hang of this site, I will post the letter from the dealership. Get educated and become enpowered, in every aspect of your lives.

Have a great day.
