Default audi in rally

Hey there! I'm wandering if someone have an idea why audi car are no more in rally. You look everywhere in the world, and all you see is old s2, quattro and so.
His it because audi frame or performance are no more good enough for rallying?

Don't hesitate to answer. Thanks!

Read up on group B: Group B - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (good place to start for info)
as well as on the Quattro rally cars and the kinds of speeds they were capable of. Many spectators as well as racers died in Group B.

Take a look at some of the youtube videos too....scary but awesome speed.

Thanks for your reply but I was more talking about today rally racing. Very few enthusiast race Audi car. I know that Audi, for safety measures, stopped their race program but is there someone, a race team or a group not affiliated with Audi who race those car? rallyX, crosscountry, rallycross...

Compared to a Subaru WRX or Mitsubishi EVO, I think the Audi is just to heavy for rally racing. Don't the A4's weight in at around 3800 lbs? My old WRX was 3100 Lbs.

I have done some research and the curb weight of the a4 1.8t b5 is 3240 lb, the b6 is 3064 lb and the b7 is 3527lb. So the weight should't be an issue. I do think that if audi did not support rallying, it's the biggest reason why there is no team using these cars. BUT, I'm interested in building a audi a4 1.8t b5 for rally. If anyone got any tips and/or contacts in Québec, Ontario, Maine and Vermont, please, give me a sign. Thanks to all!!!
