Default Audi A4 tdi

Has anyone fitted a late 04 1.9 PD engine complete with wiring and ECU ect, to an A4 1.9 tdi 1997,What troubles will I get .How do I get around the immobiliser thanks.

I don't believe the '97 A4 had an immobilizer. Take the pin out of the remote and remove the blade. Try starting your car without the remote near.

The immobiliser in the PD ecu to get it going is the trouble not the A4

Thats the imm in the PD ecu that i need to remove,do you know how thanks.
I have the key ,speedo and ecu ..

It can be done within the ECM. The ECM needs to be opened and have the Immobilizer data disabled. As long as the harness is attached correctly, the only change would be to adapt the controller from a manual transmission to automatic or vice versa.

Done it and it works.

Same goes for 1.8T and the VR6 into older bodies.

The interesting part is that the cluster and key is not required.
