Default 2003 A4 Timing Belt?

I am new to the forum and I have a question about my 2004 Audi A4 1.8 T, manual trans.

Recently I was headed out to the store and I got in my car and when I went to start it, and i felt a knock and turned the key back off. I immediatley went to restart the car and it was as if the battery was dying, kind of a weak sluggish turn-over, maybe 3 cranks and it started fine. I idled it for a couple seconds, turned the car off and restarted it with no probled. On my way back from the store, i hear sounded like a whiny gear ( i was in 3rd) and the car died. I restarted it and the sound of my motor sounded as if there was no oil in the motor (like an un-lubricated motor) and i had lost a little power. I left it parked and the next morning had a mechanic out who said it sounded fine. The car now drives with normal power, however, it just doesnt sound the same.

I had an oil job and "X-Treme Flush" done from Jiffy Lube this a.m., but im a little concerned. Incidentaly, I did notice that my motor cover (black Audi logo cover over the coils) is missing, exposing my coil packs. My main concern is my timing belt, which based on some posts here, scares the heck out of me. Could anyone help me fihureout what I should do, where I should take it?? im not very mechanically sound...any info helps. Attached is a pic of my timing belt which looks to me like it is slipped a bit.

Thanks, Darley

Darley, how much mileage you got on it?

I've been doing research on those extreme/power flush treatments.
Several experienced mechanics have told me its good but you have to take off and manually clean out the oil pan after, especially if your engine was badly 'sludged' before.
Large amounts of sludge can collect in the oil pan thats just too thick & chunky to make its way to the drain on its own.
If you don't do that, there's a serious chance some of that sludge will get carried into the oil pump and clog it or some oil passages and that could lead to big trouble real quick.
