Default 3M Scotchgard Clear Bra !!

Hello All,

Just wanted to recommend the 3M Scotchgard bra, for those that dont have it and care about not getting stone chips its a great product. Im not trying to sell it or anything just wanted to give my opinion since i just finished installing mine and looks great. I also purchase some bulk material to put on the painted parts above the fog lights b/c i was afraid of sand blasting on the highways and that was easy and cheap.

Here are some links for information:

Hey stylesx
I really want to protect the car from the stones chips, I drive a lot on the H.W and my car is new. But my concerns are this thin sheet can be really visible after they get old I have seen a lot o this invisible bras on older cars and you can see it, it is very visible. Is this a new product you were talking about here, and was it easy to apply or you have to go to a shop to install for you.

Hello, and first off I am exactly like you in wanting to protect my car. I have a 2007 A4 and i purchased the 3M clear bra right from the dealership and to be honest its Yellow !! specially b/c my car is white i can see it, and i paid $400 for it !! So when my brother bought his car i decided to search around and found another product which does not seem to yellow so far and it seems to be as durable as the 3M one. I have applied a couple of these already and seems to be pretty easy with two people. And the best thing about it is when you get tired of it just heat it up and take it off.

Plus the lighter in color your car is the less you will see it, i have seen it on a black car and yeah you can see it just a bit on the glare but on a silver or white car you can hardly see it

If you are interested let me know, also if you are interested I can do the install for you if you are in the toronto area.

How long did it take to yellow? Was it in the sun a lot as it happened?

I could definitely cope with seeing it a little if it reduced the damage. Ultimately the bra can be removed but a whole load of chips is a lot harder.

I guess i never realized how yellowish it was until i bought more bulk clear bra to put on my lower front bumper, and the piece that i bought was a clear compared to the one audi installed for me. So since Audi guaranteed me that it wont yellow then i will bring it back to them in the summer. The car was never left in the sun for a long period of time and its parked in doors and i have had it for about 5 months until now.

Just a quick suggestion for you guys, when you get the 3M stuff something they forget to mention when you are buying is that it should be treated with wax. I have the 3M stuff and my friends buddy works there and said that if you apply wax to it about every 2 weeks just a quick wipe down it helps it a lot and fill's in any holes that were made by any rocks, I do this all the time right after a car wash it takes 2 minutes and the only part that I can see is around the edges because I dont rub in the wax arond that area all that well. It has been on there since 2004 and can barely see it

Hey there,

I live in the Tdot and was looking around for this stuff. However, I can't spend the $400 on it. Does anyone know where I can get one for a A4 b6 without breaking the bank?
