Hey guys,
Just purchased a 2002 audi a4 1.8t quattro.
I love the car.

Im looking to do some modifications, starting with tinting windows and taillights, but before i do it i want to know what it would look like on my color. I dont have any actual pics of it yet, but heres one off google thats the same, if anyone has a picture or could photoshop this one to make the taillights tinted id appreciate it!


Also, I know this isnt the right thread for this question, but maybe you guys will help me anyway lol, I know this may sound ricey to some but, basically I want to hear my turbo, i want to hear it spool, i want to hear it when i shift, i like the sound of a turbo lol, so what would you guys recommend to achieve this, any help is appreciated.

Hey what's up, well first off I have the same model and colour car as you and I tinted my stock tail lights but not with the film I used the nightshade tint spray from canadian tire. Works great and easy to use, you can control the darkness by the amount of layers you spray on, more layers darker it is and less the lighter it is. It's a more perminent solution so think first if you want to use spray or tint. Mine is dark enough that you can still see alittle red that's the way I went so I wouldn't get harassed by any cops but in the end looks great.
As for the turbo not sure about that one, you can look up the diverter valve or even blow off valve, see what other say about that. Good luck with the mods.

That looks nice, do you just tape off the white part when u spray the nightshade on them

Ya it was that simple, just remove the tail lights, mask off what you don't want painted then just spray what's exposed.

Ya that's mine, a project ongoing. Good luck with your tail lights, and when you do it try to do it in a clean area so you don't get any dust particles on it while you paint and do some test sprays on a piece of scrap so you know what you want it to look like. Good luck, I look forward to seeing the finished product.

Ok thanks for your help man, appreciate it. One last question, how many coats did you use? I'm guessing 3?

Hey no prob glad to be of help and as for the number of coats I think I used a little more then 3 because the spray couldn't get the whole thing in 1 pass. So like I suggested practice on a scrap piece so you know how you want it to look like before you do the real thing and take your time. Good luck
