Default Timing belt - Allroad 2004

Folks,

I need your help!

It is (evidently) time for my timing belt (115k km).

Why is the cost so high (several thousands $!?). What alternatives do I have? Who would you recommend to do the job in the GTA?

Thanks,

The lover of audi!

What kind of engine is in the Allroad? Is it the 3.0 V6? Is so, you're looking at around $2,000 for the job. But it also includes the water pump, thermostat and a bunch of other stuff.

I had mine done for about that price, It really is not the parts that cost the money, and the kits can range from 350 to 550, its the labour. You also would want to change the water pump and the thermostat at the same time, these can run you another 300 dollars. These should be replaced at the same time because once the front of the car is off there is easy access. I think I was quoted about 6-8 hours of labor.

I got my timing belt, accessory belt, thermostat, water pump, valve cover gasket done for $850 parts and labour out the door!

PM me if you want my mechanics info. He only works on Audi, MB & BMW. If you bring your moms Toyota or Honda he will turn you away.

It's about that time for me to get the timing belt done on my '04. I'd love to get your mechanic's info. I been quoted significantly higher than that. Is he local?? GTA??
