nice one! what a fking dickface. Glad you stuck it to him and called 911.

I got pulled over in my S4 by an OPP on the 400 for not having a front license plate (US car needed a new plate holder bumper insert...part was on order). I told him I bought the car in the US 3 weeks before this and that I was waiting for Oakville Audi to contact me with the part.

he said, rudely "WELL IF I CALL PFAFF MOTORS, YOU'RE SAYING THEY WON'T HAVE ONE?"

I said 'I don't really know...as I live 80km from Newmarket. I live in Oakville. You can call Oakville Audi if you like." He told me he'd call Pfaff. ********.

He told me he sees this no-front-plate thing all the time with "sports cars" (wtf???it's a silver 2007 S4...the biggest sleeper on the planet!). He then left with my license and came back with a ticket for no front plate ($110).

I had a PFAFF rear license plate holder on the S4 (from my old A4 Avant), and after explaining my ticket options he said "Are you sure you didn't buy this from PFAFF?"

I was beyond being cordial with him so I snapped ..."ARE YOU REALLY ASKING ME IF I FORGOT WHERE I BOUGHT A $50,000 car?????"

He just handed me the ticket and said "have a nice day!" with a smile. I told him, "thanks" sarcastically, and that "the nice thing about driving a "sports car" is being able to easily afford fines like this one. At least it wiped the smile off his prickface!

buddy pulls me over, proceeds to shout, scream (all withing 2 minutes) tellin me that i was speeding, and i should be more careful....
i told him i wasnt speeding, which was actually true, i was doing 90, as it was summer, and police were out in force that weekend.

nyhoo... his last line caught my attention... he called me a my friend a racial slur...
i flipped out, and asked for his badge number, and his name.. which he then refused to give us... so i called 911 and asked them to put me thru to the night supervisor..

they showed up, after i explained the story, and let me go, w/ a promise that this issue would be resolved.

basically the same officer had problems in the past w/ ethnic people, and had numerous complaints under his belt...

i believe he got fired.

now i didnt file a complaint, i just wanted an apology... but hey... i dont feel too bad.

when wuz this??
oo fyi... im fighting my lil take away me car for doin 50 over thing...
got me a lawyer (a real one.. no crappyxcoppers) and he tells me, there is gona be a fine, but he's gona reduce it down to nothing, and on top of that, he gona stick it to them, b/c the cop car was COMPLETELY hidden from view... theres a clause in the law, that the vehicle or the officer has to be visible at time of offence or something.. i duno.. i'll find out more on the 19th...

fyi.. dont bother EVER with Xcopper, or Pointss.. as they're not real attorneys, just paralegals, who hardly do anything, to earn ur money...

ref ur ticket, all u need to do is show up in court, with a reciept from your dealership stating that your part was on order, and that the day u got the ticket, it had not come in... and once the part does arrive, ask them for a letter stating that on such and such a day, they installed the blimming thing... bam.. his entire story falls flat on his face.. it would also be nice if u went to court on the day, asked to move the court date back, and requested the officers notes on the ticket, and any other evidence against you. this will buy u some time in getting all of this sorted. u dont even need a lawyer for this, as it is well within your rights to ask for all of the above.

i hope it helps.

Chaos, it is true that they have to show it to you. fyi the new radar guns that opp uses, can catch you at a distance of over 1 km...
they are accurate to a distance of 800meters,

the best best is to ask him his process for calibration, and when was the last time it was performed... he'll get all smart assed with you, and probably wont tell u when... in any case, of note, should be that if ur gona ask to see his radar gun, make sure u get the make, model number, time of offence, condition of traffic, and last but not least, get an assesment of the position he was targetting you in, along with you relative position where he caught you.

You guys are way misinformed... Showing the radar is a courtesy and doesn't have to be shown as its a safety liability having someone coming back to the car at the side of the road. The modern Radar gun is self calibrating and tests itself in a 3 part test. This will be covered by the prosecutor at the beginning of an officers evidence. As for all the rest of those questions; the prosecutor will cover every single one of those points before you even get a chance to ask your questions. As for the cruiser having to be visible, that's nonsense. Every services traffic units use unmarked and ghost cruisers for a reason, you might want to find a new lawyer.

Here is a real tip on getting off on speeding tickets; don't speed.

Jefferson88, the first part of your post was excellent information. I believe it to all be accurate. It shoots down some of the myths that only folks under 25 believe to be true about HTA speeding violations.

The 'real tip' really has no place in an Audi forum though. Very pious. Save it for the Prius owner's forum. Sounds like CPC talk to me.

p.s. let me know what mechanic you went to in order to get the 100km/h speed limiter put on your A3. You definitely did because you'd never speed...right???

Hey! I kind of take insult to that comment! I spent 2 years getting my law clerk degree which leads into my paralegal license (you used to be able to just go straight into it). My aunt is a traffic ticket paralegal and that woman has got me and my father off some ridiculous tickets that I thought there was no hope in hell with. They do a lot of work and they charge nearly half of what lawyers charge - plus they don't charge you for advice.
If you think lawyers put in anymore work than we do to understand the law, you're wrong - because the sad part is the paralegal does all the work themselves, and the lawyer uses someone like me to do their work for them and all they have to do is present it in the case!

And yes for some tickets, you can just represent yourself. Especially when it's something dumb like no front plate (I got that one too), or if you forgot your insurance and didn't have it on you and things of that kind of nature where you just have to prove you've fixed it or have it.

Oh come on now. Are you for serious trying to say that you've never broken a speed limit? lol A speeding ticket can be something as ridiculous as going 31km/h in a 30km/h zone (I kid you not, my lawyer has that ticket framed in his office because he thought it was so ridiculous) or as serious as going 260 down the 400. Either way doesn't matter - you're trying to say you don't speed at all? You're a funny guy!

As for your comment about "ghost cruisers" - I'm sure you're a cop but that certainly doesn't mean that you understand how complex and stupid our laws are. Being "visible" does not entail that the car has to be painted bright yellow. I'm not sure what this section states exactly, but I'm sure it is some loophole about a cop with a radar gun not being able to hide behind a garbage can with no cruiser and then pop out at you. If they are holding a gun (in the car or out) either the car or the officer has to be in sight - this is how I interrupt that statement.

And as for your comment earlier saying that officers are only ****** when you're giving them attitude. I'm sorry, but that's bullshit. My own cousin's husband is a cop and a friend of ours was shot a few months ago and I could hear him talking about how he KNEW that this guy was in gangs and blah blah blah - BULLSHIT. He hadn't a clue what he was talking about and was just happy that idiots would listen to him because he's a cop. I definitely walked right over there and told him how dumb he is.
Also, I have had cops come flying up my *** on the highway (at this point I'm going about 110 - oh my!) sit there for a while and then pass me. I'm assuming they see my car (it's a moderate show car), run my plates and then see I'm a girl and think that I'm okay or something, lol.
I have been pulled over for some pretty crazy **** - but only one *** of a cop and one woman officer (being a total bitch) gave me tickets. In fact the biatch gave me a ticket for making a left hand turn during a time I wasn't supposed to which i didn't dispute at all, and when she came back to give me my ticket - she literally chucked it at me through my window. So please don't tell me officers are always on their best behaviour - I was totally quiet during that situation and actually trying to be pleasant because i could see what a miserable bitch she was.

Here is a story for you guys. I had a 2001 grand cherokee and so did my friend. We each had 3 people in our cars and we were sitting in a parking lot adjacent to Tim Hortons having coffee and shooting the ISH...It was cold out so we were sitting in the two trucks and chatting. One cop car pulls in, blocks us and shines the wonderfull flood right on all of our faces. Two minutes later another cop car shows up and they all get out of their cars and approach us hands on their guns.

They ask for identification at which point i told them that i forgot my wallet at home, but that i can get someone to bring it to me in 2 minutes as i live around the corner. So they take all of our ID's (including my friends gun licence...dont ask, this is the only ID he had on him) and i called my house and told my dad to drive over and drop off my walled as i really didnt feel like getting the no driving license ticket.

At this point there were 7 cruisers surrounding us. My dad drives into the parking lot and they almost arrest the poor guy for entering a "crime scene". He asked them what the crime was, and they said "ask your son". His reply was " i am asking you"...they didnt have an answer. 1.5 hours later, we both got a parking ticket for parking in the fire zone (100 bucks)

Here is an interesting fact...we both submitted the tickets for court, and we never got the letter with court date, nor did the tickets ever show up anywhere. Here is an example of a hero cop that thought that he was on to something...called in the troops, and ended up looking like an A$$. He said that two high end SUV's looked suspicious in that area. Keep in mind that this happened 2 minutes away from the Bridle Path the home of the most prestigeous homes in Toronto.

Anyway i have a couple of more stories, but this one is definitively a topper.
