I have a 2010 Audi A4 and need to replace the windshield before it caves in on me! lol

Can anyone recommend a good place to get it done? I bought the car from glenmore Audi and was thinking about just taking it there to get it replaced but do they do a good job there?

I'm pretty sure Glenmore will refer you to King's Glass. I just had one done there, and they were quick, and it seems like everything went well.

How much did you pay and do you know what type of glass it was?

Glenmore Audi quoted me $850.

Glass Masters quoted me $506.57 with GST and everything. That would be for PGW glass and they said they exclusively do all the windshield replacements for both Glenmore Audi and Royal Oak Audi.

Is there a big difference between PGW glass and Sekurit Audi glass?

listen man , i tried a lot with those outside retailers and found myself going straight back to the audi retailers themselves they give you warranty and guarantee and that for me is the best i could ask for

So I talked to Glenmore Audi again to get some more info and a proper quote...

Glenmore Audi will replace the windshield with Audi Glass and parts with there in house mechanics for $1060 including tax.

or

Glenmore Audi will replace the windshield with Audi Glass and use there outside glass company which is Glassmasters for $760 including tax.

They said that the use to only use Glassmasters for all there windshield replacements but some people prefer only Audi trained mechanics to work on there car. The only difference with having Audi do it or Glassmasters do it, is the way that they cut out the glass and Audi uses all original parts and adhesives.

I also contacted Glassmasters directly and they quoted me $611.57 for original Audi glass and including install and taxes. So I save myself about $150 for the same service Audi offers with them and about $450 from having the dealership do everything. Glassmasters also offers a lifetime warranty so I'll probably go directly to them.

I did check around at other places...

Kings Glass said that my windshield for my Audi is not available aftermarket. They quoted me $683 + tax installed for original Audi Glass.

Dominion Auto Glass quoted me $365.82 including tax for PGW Glass installed.

Dynasty Auto Glass quoted me $379 installed + tax for probably cheap glass.

M&M Auto Glass quoted me $250 installed for Chinese glass.

SpeedyGlass quoted me $489 including tax.

Crystal glass quoted me $450 + tax for cheap glass and said it would be about $250 more for original Audi glass.

Mr. Windsheild quoted me $410 + tax.

There is like a hundred different places you can get glass in this city! I just stopped calling around because they all offer the cheap Chinese glass and for about $200 more I would rather get original Audi glass.

Just so you know my Audi doesn't have rain sensors or lane departure warning and the prices were for a 2010 A4 Sedan.

Try Easy Auto Glass, they use the same manufacturer (Saint Gobain) that OEM uses (minus the 4 ring etch). At least they did for my 08 A4.

I only paid a deductible, so I don't know the cost, but it's not relevant now, you have lots of quotes.

On one of my former Audis I once got non-OEM glass, and there was some noticeable distortion along the edges of the windshield. I got used to it, but initially it did bother me. I don't think it was PGW, so I can't say it would be a factor, but it did make me a little nervous about cheaper glass.

On all my recent cars, I've bought the Diamond Fusion windshield treatment, and it really seems to work. Just sayin'

The price changes depending on how long you want to be covered. I buy three years, and it costs $600 - $700. Each year you have to have the windshield inspected and re-treated (no cost). There is a $50 deductible if the windshield cracks and you get it replaced. I get hit with rocks all the time, and I have taken some pretty hard hits without damaging my windshield. That said, I have had two replaced by Diamond Fusion.

The protection is about the price of a windshield, but I have replaced fewer windshields since I started buying Diamond Fusion, so it's been worth it for me.
