Unhappy Bad luck continues... Tires??

So after I was sprayed with a gravel truck and have deep chips in my hood (WHICH I STILL NEED TO FIX; still looking for advice).

Was on Deerfoot this morning ran over god knows what! and blam! Blew out my side wall and a small little crack at the edge of my titanium package rim!

Now I only had 30% tread on all my tires; was forced to goto my spare full size rim and tire with 100% tread. To my understanding with Audi's "rolling radius of all 4 tires must remain the same" therefore I understand I must get ALL NEW TIRES!

Where should I go!? KalTire? Dealership?? ANY COMMENTS/SUGGESTIONS?

Thanks again guys all input is greatly appreciated. I am thinking of coming to the meet tomorrow! Maybe I can show you all the sad damage on my vehicle.

Come out to the meet tomorrow, we'll hash it out!
Do you want to use up the 30%? There are used tire stores or ebay or junk yards if you want to try to salvage the rest of the other three tires. If not, Kal Tire has been good to me as have Goodyear. I would not go Michelin myself but that is just personal experience including my current Lexus.

You don't want to file an insurance claim? A wheel/tire and a bunch of paint work could add up pretty quickly.

Driving with the tread difference is not going to amount to much difference - you might notice a slightly different feel from the one tire, but it's not likely to be very significant. That could depend entirely on the specific model of tire, though. Since your tires are down pretty low anyway, I'd probably just replace them all and keep the extras as your new spares. Just throwing this option out there if you want to save some cash for the time being: you can always have the 100% tire shaved down to match the others.

I always order my tires online (usually from Tire Rack) since local prices can never even come close to online prices. I always order high-end tires though, so the disparity may not be there on lower-end stuff. Hint: now is a good time to upgrade from OEM-spec tires

I put Winter Nokians on my a5 from Kal Tire in the fall but I don't know what they have for a performance tire. I can drop your name at the stores the I deal at if you like.

Any discounts available for members at tire stores in Calgary anyone?

Almost feels like I MIGHT need another wheel alignment too! There was no way in hell I was going to stop on the side of deerfoot during rush hour, so I drove the 1 km on the blown tire! Not by choice but by pure safety reasons alone.

Now my issue with that I would love to give Kal Tire my business as they have been great to me over the years HOWEVER; when I brought my vehicle to a Kal Tire for a wheel alignment they had no clue even how to do one on an Audi! Brought it to the dealership paid $10 more and tickady boo Audi had me on my way.

Now if I get new tires... I want Audi to give me a wheel alignment along with the tires. But does Audi offer me a high performance tire away from OEM-Spec tires??

Are you coming to the meet tonight?
I'm not familiar with Glenmore or Royal Oad's tire offerings. I was dealing with the parts man at Royal Oak and he seemed most into options and had some offerings that I wasn't interested in at the time. (wanted Nokians)
Did you get a replacement tire or just using the spare?
If a wheel alignment has been done, it won't need to be done with the new tires. Only needs a balance.

Definitely going to try and make it tonight!! Will be my first time!

So, I called RBC Insurance and they will cover it under my comprehensive Claim; thus my premiums WON'T go up! $500 Deductible though... I do need the following covered, which I am sure will surpass the $500:

Blown Tire
Cracked Rim
Rock Chips on hood
Wheel Alignment

Thinking I mike get the protection film on there after too!

Now next question I have is... Audi recommends running all same tread on every tire. With me blowing a tire that was not my fault and insurance will cover it, will they cover the 3 remaining tires as the vehicle spec is must all be on the same tread? OR AM I REACHING!?

Nice... Did you get the 3M done at the Dealership? Look pretty seamless?

That's likely to be a couple of grand covered - you owe me beer for the recommendation!
