Thinking aobut getting a s4
I was thinking about getting a 2001 s4 with 73000 miles for $12900 was wondering if thats a good deal. I own a acura tl right now and was wondering how reliable they are or compare to a acura. I hear maintenance is pretty expensive if this is true what kind of stuff needs done and about how much? When they talk about maintenance is it just oil change spark plug etc or much more? Thanks

Re: Thinking aobut getting a s4
For good deal its hard to say as this is a Canadian forum and are prices are a lot different up here.
As for reliability your S4 will never be near the TL if you want something reliable Audi probably isn't the car to drive.
Maintenance is expensive and by expensive i mean really expensive you have all the little things like you said and you have to do those religously but then there is the stuff that goes on Audi B5's you have wheel bearings that go you have control arms that go you have EGT sensors coolant sensors thermostat sensors MAF sensors. Then there is the Timing belt changes every 60K miles or 5 years that is about $1000 ish and then if the turbos go there is a couple thousand and a motor pull to replace but think of the bright side you get to upgrade them and go stage 3.
On my A4 i have done the following in the 2.5 years of ownership
2-ECT Sensors
1-Thermostat
2-MAF's
1-Timing Belt Change
2-Wheel Bearings
1-Hazard Relay
And coming up will be redoing all the control arms on the car
All of this didn't stop me from buying an S4 tho so ignore what ever i said and if you want one you want one just make sure you have some money to play with.
