s4 to an s5 (2011's)?
Been considering this for awhile.
No longer need 4 doors......so seriously considering selling my '11 premium S4 w 15K kms for an S5.....
Anybody else considering or would recommend (my S4 has AWE exhaust, H&R lowered springs, full LEDs all round, Stratmosphere intake, etc.......so love the customization ability (have Forgestar CF5's on order 19x9.5's) but miss a V8 with 2 doors (my last 5 Benz').......

Hi Rcoppens:
Recently I've been considering switching my Q5 to an S4 or S5. One reason I chose the S4 over S5 is due to the fact that I was told next year S5 is losing it's v8 engine and getting the same V6T as the S4.S5 is also due for a face lift. These reason pushed me over to the S4 but if you don't care about the V8 being discontinued or the face lift then go for it. I think the S5 is the most gorgeous 2 door car on the road today.

how can you NOT have a tune on that car ye if you have an intake etc.? Your boost is limited/bled off to inhibit the car from about 5500rpm up to redline. Just remove that limit via an ECU tune and you'll see 12psi to redline...and about 400 peak hp/torque. It's a no brainer.
p.s. is it an s-tronic? have you figured out launch control yet?

you'll 'lose' about $20,000 in the process. Is it worth it?

Yes, the launch control is a great thrill.........but learned to have a lid on the coffee before I do it again.
I'm going through a possible relocation. so the S4 would hit the market and I'd look for a diesel sedan and possibly look for a summer only runner in the spring.

Re: s4 to an s5 (2011's)?
well let me know if you sell the S4...I am constantly recommending it to people, and a couple friends have already bought them. I'm sure there will be more looking, and from the looks of it, a new order is turning into a COLLOSSAL wait right now.
Any info on the car?
p.s. if you need a summer car, get an M3...it's really tough to beat that thing. I'd drive one if it didn't snow here, but you appear to be only using this car as a weekender/fun car/warm weather car

Re: s4 to an s5 (2011's)?
Our car will be almost twins, minus the exhaust and the lower springs. Down to the winter tires and the LEDs.
Going from S5 to an S4 you'll for sure need the exhaust mod otherwise you'll miss the sound of the exhaust. It's going to be sweet ride.

Re: s4 to an s5 (2011's)?
As an update, I am adding some GM VMR 710's to use with the summer tires, making the swap out of the OEM/Blizzaks easier.
Will post with full intent to sell soon (or if someone has an immediate and direct inquiry, let me know.......)

OP, I'll give you a grand for your AWE exhaust if for some reason prospective purchaser prefers the stock exhaust. You never know. The S5 is a great car which I would purchase in a heartbeat, however, need some backseat space for the kids. Good luck.
