S4 B6 or Volvo S60 R ?
Hey guys i was originally planing on getting a S60 R (volvo) but now i am considering of getting the s4 ...both of them have awd and powerful engines...i never had an v8 engine and the sound is just amazing...i do allot of km on the highway and wanted to know what the average l/100 km is ...can i get under 9.0 l/ 100 km..? comparing the 2 cars i already know that the volvo has problems with cylinder clutch slave and the some problems at the awd system...so its a problem...does the s4 have some known issues...? if you guys would give me some advice i would appreciate...thanks guys..!

Re: S4 B6 or Volvo S60 R ?
A couple of points that would make me lean towards the S:
- The S60R is a Haldex-based AWD system, and this generation of Haldex is known for issues. This can be ridiculously-expensive if you had to replace the rear-drive unit with a brand new part, and pay for labour. Also, the programming for the Haldex relegates it to being an inferior AWD system (compared to toren) for any kind of 'performance' driving; although, the controller can be upgraded.
- The S60R is turbocharged, creating an inherently more unreliable (than if it were naturally-aspirated) engine.
- The 4C suspension is interesting, but expensive; and, I would prefer a properly-tuned aftermarket suspension to an on-the-fly variable one.
The S60R is a cool car, and I actually considered buying one once; but, after my TT is gone, I will never buy another Haldex-based vehicle from that generation (the newer Haldex is greatly improved).

I think this is a good place to start for some good advice.

Haha, perfect video for the question at hand. After seeing how annoying it is to turn off the traction control, I wouldn't buy an S60R for that reason alone!
OP, do some Google searches for real-World fuel efficiency of both cars; but, I'm betting the S60R will be good for a few extra MPGs.

Re: S4 B6 or Volvo S60 R ?
thanks guys for the reply's ...i already looked at the videos before ...i already drove an s60r ...its very nice car and has a nice powerband ...the only thing that is really bad is the awd reliability ...Angle gear bad design so it has to be replaced and then they put the clutch slave inside the gearbox making a 120 $ part destroy another 1500$ and you're looking at labor and parts 2500 ...bad design...i have read some bad things about the s4 engine ...oilt starvation and engine failure ...for sure the awd in the audi is superior that is no question...then i have another issue ...my goal in either of the cars is to get 12 s in 1/4 mile...To get the audi there is probably gonna be more expensive then the volvo but then i think about the 2 major problems in the volvo and add up the $ and i have a turbo car that is gonna cost more then an NA one to get into 12s...what you think guys..?

First things first: you'll get considerably less responses with your long run-on sentences - no one wants to waste time trying to interpret it
I don't know about the B6 S4, but some Audis also have the clutch slave in the gearbox, including my own. If it breaks, I'm forced to pull the tranny to fix it . Also, keep in mind that the rear final-drive unit and the system controller are also prone to failure in Haldex vehicles.
Your post states that you want to get to 12 seconds and also get into the 12s - which is it? There's a huge difference between the two! Also, your last 'sentence' seems to consist of two directly oppositional statements - that the Audi will cost more to get to the 12s, and then that the turbo car will cost more

Re: S4 B6 or Volvo S60 R ?
You don't have to analyze my writing lol...i wanna reach 12's that means 12.99 .. i was saying that the audi is gonna cost me more to get to 12's...the volvo if i put the cost of the slave failure and the angle gear will cost me more..because the 2 things are gonna fail it is just a matter of time...there is no doubt about that...5000 $ for s4 to reach12.s just some numbers maybe more...and 3500 $ for s 60r again just some numbers...but then the volvo issues another 4500$ ...maybe now you will understand my point of view...!
FWIW, I like your runon sentences and use of the triple period!
Lighten up cheeba; you're sounding as old as me.

I thought I was back in skool (sic). I frequent another bulletin board and haven't heard such indignation regarding the use of English, from a mod no less, especially on the consistent and notoriously bad Enlishy interwebby thing.
FWIW, I like your runon sentences and use of the triple period!

In any case, do whatever you want with the information, but I'm just letting you know that you're limiting the amount of help you'll receive with poorly-structured writing.
