PLEAse Please Please - ?? 2.7T be installed in B6/7

Don't let people who don't know any better, or are timid, hold you back! VAG vehicles are very easy to do odd engine swaps within the brand. So many engines drop into so many applications. In fact, the 2.7TT drops into the B6 car no problem (engine mounts and subframe bolt up). Tranny/drivetrain issue is easily solved by using the appropriate bell housing, flywheel, and axles/hub.
The only problem that will require anything besides off-the-shelf solutions will be the wiring. I'd be tempted to go stand alone, but you'll be able to get a 2.7TT ECM working with a B6 cluster via immobilizer defeat. I don't know what CAN-bus functions you'd lose in the swap (B5 S4 was non-CAN-bus). However, I think the 2005+ All-Roads are CAN-bus, and if that's the case, with an ECM and harness from one, your wiring issues should be very simple to solve, making the whole swap a piece of cake

Awesome! I'm glad to hear that you're not afraid of a little problem solving! If you decide to pull the trigger, start up a thread and I'll help out as much as I can. If I were closer, I'd be there turning wrenches with ya'!

sorry i didn't notice this thread sooner! here is a link for you of a guy who dropped a 2.7T into a B6.... IIRC he also explained how he defeated the immobilizer.
