Ordered! Joining the S4 club

Re: Ordered! Joining the S4 club
Thanks!
I wish they had something on the lot that worked for me, but unfortunately, no dice. I still think I made out okay since it'll only be 6 weeks total instead of 3 months that it normally takes for an ordered car - my wife's Q5 took 3.5 months.
I'm glad you're enjoying yours.

Re: Ordered! Joining the S4 club
Well, I got back from the dealer earlier today, and am happy to say I'm officially ordered.
The wait now begins for my Sprint Blue on Black DSG Premium with Carbon Inlays, Navigation, Sport Differential, B&O, and Black Optic.
Very, very happy. I'll post pictures when it gets here.
A total aside, but something I thought was interesting. I've been a diehard BMW owner for years (323ci, M3, and 535xi), and now both my wife and I are Audi drivers. I'm no automotive journalist, but I fancy myself a pretty knowledgeable car enthusiast, and I think the fact that both of us picked Audi's says a lot about the quality of the product.
Looking forward to more participation on the forum.

Re: Ordered! Joining the S4 club
did anyone else seen this video...speaks about the drop in sales and how they plan to combat the competition...it actually is a good idea and may work...just as long as the execs at Audi stay focused and work this plan to the end!

Re: Ordered! Joining the S4 club
I actually thought the opposite.
While I agree that the 335 (I drove one when I bought my 535) is a great handling car, I was pleasantly surprised with how well the S4 did in comparison. There is definitely a unique feel to a car that is fully rear wheel drive, and it feels more fun because you can toss it more.
That said, when it comes to actually going around corners quickly, there isn't much between the two cars. I suspect it would come down the driver and conditions (rain or snow would give a huge advantage to the Audi).
Combine that with an interior that was light years ahead (my opinion), better exterior design (again my opinion), and better technology integration, the S4 wins. If you want AWD, the margin grows even further - the xi models from BMW don't have the true sport suspension, whereas the S4 does.
That's not to say that the 335 is a bad car (far from it). I have a great deal of respect for it (the tunability is impressive), but the S4 was a better choice for me right now.

Re: Ordered! Joining the S4 club
I got my Quartz Grey S4 3 days ago. Love it. Premium package, 6 spd manual, all options.
I also bought a winter tire/wheel package from TireRack.com. It shipped from their Reno, NV location within 4 hours of ordering. Very impressive. I guess we'll see if they actually arrive within a week (I live in Calgary, AB). The cost was just under $1,900 CDN for the 18" package. A full 1K less than the package the dealer offered.

The car was off the lot, and came with the Black interior. Very nice. The leather is incredible.
Royal Oak Audi was great. Vince Tran was my salesman. He's incredibly knowledgeable about not only all things Audi, but cars in general. I also dealt with Ralph Hamilton, the finance manager. He was also great.
They actually gave me about $900 worth of gifts when I picked up the car if you can believe it. A $700 photography GC, a $130 custom box of Bernard Callebaut chocolates (or the chocolates formerly known as Bernard Callebaut...), two stainless steel Audi travel mugs, and an Audi pen. Very classy group at Royal Oak, I must say.

Re: Ordered! Joining the S4 club
Congrats!
I really hope my car gets here before the snow flies so I can at least enjoy it clean for a few days. I also have an 18" package waiting for me once the car gets here. I figure it'll be one of those situations where I basically leave the dealership, drive straight to the shop and get the wheels swapped.
Let's see some pics - I never get bored of seeing different combos.

What's a "photography GC"? How's Royal Oak's pricing? I could not understand the prices published on their web site. The web price is quite a bit higher than the MSRP (including the freight/PDI and typical admin/tax). Do they bundle the aftermarket protection stuff like 3M, tinting, into their price? Did you get a good discount?
