Were you in sport mode at the time?

In an article that I cannot link as I do not have enough posts, I read that...

For additional kick, the RS4 will feature a new sports mode, which when activated remaps the gas-pedal control, giving the engine sharper response.

I take this to mean that there's some drive by wire trickery going on in non sport mode. Could be some attempt at making the EPA tests look better.

Yes I had the car in sport mode, that said I did have ESP on at the time. It wasn't until much later that I discovered that ESP had two modes, 1. press button and disable (flashing) 2. hold button for 5 seconds and defeat the whole system (light stays on steady). With ESP off the car is a completely different animal

As an aside, I have found with ESP completely disabled in the winter the car is much more sure footed in the snow

First off, congrats on the car!

My recommendation would be as mentioned above to have the ESP totally OFF on the track and to launch at a higher RPM, perhaps 93-94 octane isn't a bad idea either. I bet a perfect launch and no ESP could put you in the 12's, will take some practice.

Audi RS4 - Supercars.net (2005 model)
12.8

Full Test: 2007 Audi RS 4 (2007 model)
13.2 seconds at 106.8

Not sure on the year differences, take them for what they are but wow...this car is HOT...

Interesting...

What's the first level of 'OFF' for (when its flashing) and what's the difference between OFF and COMPLETELY OFF?

Also, would this work on a 2007 S4? (the 2 modes)

First stage (flashing) is only the traction control disabled. Second stage (solid light) traction and stability program disabled.

I'm starting to get a little frustrated. I added the Miltech Sport exhaust this year, the car feels strong pulls hard and runs well yet, when I take it to the track the results don't show. For some reason this car will not break a 13.2 @ 106 at the track.

I'm wondering if I got a weak one considering I have seen posted times in the 12's for these cars. Any suggestions?

That's not bad at all. Its the same time as Edmunds full test. Perhaps with more time adjusting your shift point you will break into high 12'.
Could the climate/temp have anything to do with it?

I've seen better results, the car just feels stronger than the tale of the ticker suggests. Weather was a balmy 28 celcius with about 60% humidity. I'm considering a computer tune up and seeing what that does, if all else fails I'll just part with 20 large and slap on an MTM Supercharger LOL

You have not posted your 60' time which is key to determine why your times are slower than you expect. That said, your mph is lower than I would expect.
