Importing a 2000-2001 S4
http://www.riv.ca/english/US_vehicle_admissibility.pdf
according to this webiste, the 2000-2001 S4's are not able to be imported into Canada. Does anyone know why this is? or if it is possible to import one?

B5 S4s in the US use xenons and fog lights. In that configuration with the S4 bumper, it doesn't meet the Canadian requirements - 5kmh (or was it higher) collision requires that the DRL remains functional and it didn't pass this requirement, hence the B5 S4s in Canada do not have xenons nor fogs.
Same goes for the B5 S4 avant, the tail gate had to open after a rear end collision at a certain speed and it didn't meet the requirements either.

but although its badgless, does it not have a vin number that still make its a S4?? I want a S4 but im not sure if I want it bad enough to use fraud to get one here. I would almost prefer to pay a couple thousand more and buy one local.

I dont know how much work is involved in coverting the gauges and stuff to km/h (if one even does this when importing), buying a Canadian model just seems like an easier and less-risky way of doing things.
