Exclamation Help! OEM Sirius Trouble?

Hi All,

I recently picked up an RS4 and it came with Sirius. I went ahead and activated it with them today. The agent on the phone sent a signal to the radio and the stations began to come up, but no sound? They had me try a couple of FM stations in order to capture a signal but nohting seemed to work. He wasn't able to assist so I told him not to bother and that I would hopefully get someone to help.

Anyone know what FM station I should be using? Im in Ottawa and was told to use the standard 88.1FM, but that did not work. Is there something I am missing?

Is this a factory built in Sirius radio? If so, it should be wired into the speakers so no FM frequency should be required. I am guessing this is not factory but just in case.

If it's an aftermarket add on, try hooking up a headphone to it's aux jack to see if you hear sound, this way if you do, you know the issue is not with the radio. I used to own an aftermarket radio and it used to work on any FM frequency as long as it was a clear channel free of other broadcasts.

This is OEM factory. It's built right into my RNS-E via the Sirius module.

Okay great so your sirius, tape and CD player are all one integrated OEM unit. If you can hear your CDs playing that means nothing is wrong with your radio and speaker hook up. Its was probably a bad satellite signal. You can go on the sirius canada website or you can call them and send yourself another activation signal. When you do this make sure the car is outside with a clear line of sight to the sky. Try again it'll most likely work.

Thanks for this. I will give them another call and try to get this sorted out.

I tried it again this morning and all I get is a static sound, no music?

So I called Sirius again today to trouble shoot and still nothing. They claim a defective OEM unit is at fault. I will have my local Audi dealership check it out.
