First S4, need HELP with clutch
I have a 1994 audi s4, the clutch is to the floor and is not pushing back up. I looked under the hood and noticed that there is no brake fluid.
When I add brake fluid am I going to need to bleed the fluid? Where do i bleed it from? And would that fix the problem with my clutch.
I really want to avoid towing if its a small problem. Thanks

Re: First S4, need HELP with clutch
add fluid.
if everything is ok, then don't worry.
if the clutch still sits on the floor, with the engine running, try to put the car in gear, will it go into gear? if it goes in gear, but does not engage, you may have a problem with the master cylinder. if it will not go into gear to begin with, it may be a problem with the slave cylinder.

So I added oil brake oil and it didn't make a difference. When the car is off I could put it in gear. But when the car is on I can't put it in gear. Do I need a new slave cylinder?

Re: First S4, need HELP with clutch
+1 on the slave cylinder...it's located on your bell housing (transmission) and actuates the clutch fork.
Basically, it opens your pressure plate and lets your engine freewheel from your drivetrain. If your master (the one your clutch pedal pushes directly) is good and your slave (the one your master actuates remotely) is bad: then your engine is always coupled to your transmission.
If you're moderately skilled and comfortable replacing a slave cylinder, have a look:
