Default Could this be the fuel pump?

I only used to hear this occasional whine coming from the rear but now its constant. The pitch doesnt change with the rpm it is always the same, had my mechanic run a voltage test and he says the pump is fine.... any ideas?

can you be more descriptive about the sound, and when you hear it?

also, to have 700 B6/7 S4 members read the thread, you can cross-post to Euro Addiction

cheers

p.s. if it is the fuel pump ONLY REPLACE WITH OEM....the aftermarket ones for our cars are ****. You can DIY it.

Also ive been pricing pumps online and even the aftermarket which are crap still run around $450. Am I not looking in the right place or is this the going rate?

not sure about Canadian pricing...did you post this on EA? A few guys there have already replaced theirs. They'll know more about costs.

For a great price on parts, contact neil at owasco parts counter. He gives very fair pricing for forum customers. Tell him you are from the forums.
