Clinking/Rattle noise when turning
Hi guys:
So every once in a while, while turning right (almost only right, hardly ever left) there is a clinking sound coming from underneath and towards the back of the car.
I say clinking, at first it almost sounded like a heat shield rattling. But as it got hotter (subsequent laps at the track) it would get more substantial. Maybe more like two aluminum rods hitting each other. It never was a thud or clunk, so I guess clinking is the best way I can think to describe it. Once it got worse, it would even seem to happen while going straight, over a bump or two.
I let it cool down before going out for another session. It initially went away, but again got worse every lap. So I just called it a day.
Any ideas on what this might be?
Thanks a bunch,
Mark

Re: Clinking/Rattle noise when turning
Ok, just for anyones interest sake, I think I have managed to find the problem.
I did come across a forum post over in the Uk:
Basically the Milltek exhaust hanger is mounted so that as you turn hard to the right, the exhaust swings left and the hanger comes in contact with the drive shaft. I guess getting worse as it heats up because the rubber mount become more elastic and has more play.
I will try to heat up the hanger and see if it cant be bent out of the way a little bit.
I have no idea how to post a picture to here, but the one in the tread above is exactly the same as the picture that I have.
That's it, thanks guys.
