B7 2006 S4 JHM short shifter recommendation
Does anyone know about the JHM Short Shifter?
Just wanted to know if anyone has used them and what are the opinions?
I am thinking of getting one....
Thanks.

Re: B7 2006 S4 JHM short shifter recommendation
I know 2 things
1. it's AWESOME...I drove a car with it and I fell in love with the feel. I'll be doing it next time I'm at VAST meeting the JHM guys, which brings me to #2
2. it's a tough install to get perfect...so be prepared to get annoyed. That's why I'm going to wait and have them do it.
I think it's light years better than any of the other stuff out there like the shitmosphere or anything.

I just installed the JHM shift kit yesterday. I love it. Super solid feel, much much stiffer, and great shifting. My only complaint is that the shifts are still a bit longer than I would like, especially side to side.

Re: B7 2006 S4 JHM short shifter recommendation
Been considering it myself. I've replaced the shifter for all of my previous cars.
It's funny, when I initially bought the car, I was going from my E36 BMW with a short shifter and I felt the S4 shift throw was too long. Then I rented a Ford Mondeo in Europe and when I got back, the throw in the S4 felt great. However, that feeling only lasted a week. Now I want to shorten the throw again. It's so relative.
Quick question though, typically, short shifters make the shifts harder due to less leverage. I'm assuming it's the same here? My girlfriend was having difficulties going into reverse with my BMW's short shifter. She needed two hands. I kept telling her to go to the gym more often (jokingly

It sound like your girlfriend either needs more practice, stronger muscles or stay away from your car. All joking aside I am with SAK on this. I plan on getting the JHM shifter and having them install it at the VAST facility. When? Not exactly sure yet. Obviously need to coordinate this with JHM and VAST. Perhaps SAK can keep us informed as to when JHM is planning a trip.

Would you mind keeping me updated on your progress? I'd love to piggy back off your install and have mine done as well at the same time if that's ok with you.
