yes or a vag-com tool.
your valet key or plastic key might work too as the 2nd key.

Is that with the key cut and programmed to your vehicle for the $200?
there are some places that can cut a key blank for less, but you have to
install it in the remote section with a tiny tool. I would buy more than
one blank to save some shipping costs.

I bought a couple of switchblade remotes off of Ebay to convert my '97 A4
over, got one of them working after some new batteries and then bought the
key from the dealer for $40. So right now I am up to $63 for the
switchblades and I still have to get my other remote working AND get some
key blanks cut. Oh and I bought the original remote for $17 shipped off of
Ebay.
the parts numbers should be the same, or close depending on 3 or 4 button
remote.
ALSO some keys will have immobilizer chips in them which has to be
programmed/matched to your vehicle.
